“Rivolgete a lui lo sguardo” — W. A. Mozart (Così fan tutte)
Opening the 25/26 Season with Mozart at the Opéra National du Rhin
The Opéra National du Rhin officially launched its 2025/2026 season with a celebratory “Carte Blanche” concert, marking a vibrant beginning for the Opera Studio’s new promotion. As the first concert of the season, it was a joyous occasion to reconnect with the Strasbourg audience and share the stage with talented colleagues.
A Return to Guglielmo
For this opening night, Eduard chose to perform the demanding aria “Rivolgete a lui lo sguardo” from W. A. Mozart’s Così fan tutte. While the character of Guglielmo is a staple of the baritone repertoire, this particular aria—originally intended for the opera but often replaced by the shorter “Non siate ritrosi”—is a true tour de force.
With its rapid-fire delivery and expansive vocal range, “Rivolgete a lui lo sguardo” captures Guglielmo at his most boastful and spirited. For Eduard, returning to this “crazy” Guglielmo was the perfect way to embrace the energy of the new season.
Watch the Performance
A short excerpt from the opening night is now available to view. The performance highlights the blend of technical precision and theatricality that defines Mozart’s writing.
“Delighted to sing this aria in concert during the Carte Blanche. A wonderful way to begin the season with Mozart and my crazy Guglielmo!”
Looking Ahead
This concert served as the prelude to a busy autumn and winter schedule for Eduard at the Opéra National du Rhin. Upcoming highlights include the Strasbourg/Mulhouse tour of The Fantasticks, followed by Korngold’s Das Wunder der Heliane and Poulenc’s Les Mamelles de Tirésias in early 2026.
