Opera artist Eduard Ferenczi-Gurban is a singer with a lot of vocal and theatrical potential, which is necessary to work in this demanding profession on opera stages. During the jury I was part of I was able to discover this young vocal instrumentalist through his desire to transmit his emotions while respecting the music composed. The warm voice and its beautiful tone will allow him, with the qualities of his colors, to add personality to the characters he embodies. During the masterclasses that I was able to give, I also remember, his attentive listening to the advice offered and his application to achieve different solutions which should help him sing with more freedom and naturalness. His reflections after the work proposed to him allows Eduard to always propose different versions until he finds the best one which matches the vocal technique and the incarnation of the character. I recommend this artist for opera productions and concerts because he is passionate about art in general and a good element in a troupe because he always thinks of the community. It is essential in this professional environment to know how to manage oneself and others because opera is made up of enthusiasts who have a common goal, to be rigorous in this exercise which requires artistic excellence and the sharing of emotions.

To whom it may concern, Baritone Eduardo Ferenczi Gurban has participated to the “Auditioning and Repertoire Workshop” for young opera singers” in Budapest, Hungary during the period 29 July – 01 August 2024. He has got instructions and consulting by Erkki Alste (opera agent, Opera Connection) and Hans-Otto Ehrstrom (repetiteur Vienna State Opera). During the workshop he has been working on his audition skills, musical and dramatic expression and has attended the classes in following issues:

In our opinion his central audition repertoire at the moment are arias of a high lyric baritone, such as Gluck: Dieux qui me poursuivez (Oreste). Mozart: Rivolgete a lui lo sguardo (Guglielmo), Rossini : Largo al factotum (Figaro). Mr. Ferenczi Gurban has proven himself to be an extreme talented young singer.
